Just what I was looking for

After going through many best-selling, popular atheistic books, all great, I was looking for a more in depth and specifically historical accounting of the Bible and its errors and origins. There are certain points where it gets too in depth, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the variety and respected the technicality and professionalism. I'm also already a history lover in general so the forays into the processes of the historian and the exploration of ancient Greece, China and Hitler was also highly appreciated. I must note I had never read any of the material here before, perhaps if one has it wouldn't quite be worth the five stars I'm giving it. Solid.

New Information at the Right Time

The reason I gave Hitler Homer Bible Christ a five star rating is that it filled a need, exactly when I wanted the information. Carrier's new information on Hitler (and I won't give anything away) is very helpful in any discussion about Hitler. That alone made the book worth the price. Carrier also tries to keep his books as affordable as possible, and I sure appreciate that. Now that I read the review ahead of mine, my next part of the book to read is the reference to "James the brother of Jesus" in Josephus, as the reviewer said that "is fascinating detective work, and gives a very plausible account of how this passage might have been an accidental interpolation." At one time I thought Jesus might have actually existed due references about "his brother James," so I yearn for information to the contrary so I have more evidence that he was just another myth, as the many similar gods' stories before Jesus lead me to think. Thanks to Richard Carrier for putting a book out while we wait for another of his books due around April!
