Well written and useful guide. Could provide more clues on where to go eat.

This guide provides interesting advices. It lacks however a more detailed list of precise restaurants, hotels or places to go. It seemd to be a little bit outdated too. We where looking for examples for places to listen to greek music. Found some very interesting spots by ourselves.

Note : i used the kindle version on my iPhone and it was very useful.

This journal is dedicated to the study of weapons, armour and fighting within the Roman World. The listed contents in the above blub are wrong. Cataphracti equites, quos clibanarii dictitant (A E Negin); and The Eining lorica segmentata (M C Bishop) are not in this issue, but instead you have "Klivanion revisited: an evolutionary typology and catalogue of Middle Byzantine lamellar styles" (Tim Dawson) and "A critical review of the Bishop version 1.01 Newstead lorica segementata in the wake of a prototype's creation. (L. Arik Greenberg), as well as "Reinforcing a Roman Helmet during the Dacian Wars" (David Sim) and "Pieces of Roman Military Equipment in a Roman Cellar at the Bemelerveld in Maastricht (The Netherlands)" (Bernard Van Daele).

The text is mostly written in English, with two articles in German and one in Spanish. All of the articles have excellent line drawings and B&W photgraphs. This is truly a needed addition to any collection about Roman military equipments.

Peter Connolly's article is eye-opening for those who have not studied the pila in various museums, and corrects some of the Hollywood notions and 19th century writings that improperly described the function and construction of this Roman missile weapon.

About the Author
Gaylord Enns has served in full-time Christian ministry for over forty years. He started ministry to college students in the 60's and was a leader in the Jesus Movement in the 70's. His pastoral ministry served one congregation for thirty-three years. In 2003, he founded Servant Leadership Network (SLN) to facilitate ministry to pastors and next-generation leaders. His focus is on building relationship between pastors within cities based on the core commandments of Christian discipleship. Over the thirty-nine years that he and his wife, Patti, have been married, they have worked together closely in ministry. They enjoy a loving relationship with their children and grandchildren.

required reading

Just recently I was visiting with our son's family in Chico, CA. The day before I was to return to Ohio, our 'daughter' put this book in my hand. Next day on the long flight home I read nearly half this book, could not put it down. It touched my heart so to think that I've believed and served our Lord Jesus all these years and thought I understood the New Testament's 2 new commandments. Yet the way Gaylord explains this simple truth of first believing in Jesus and then receving His commandment to love one another is such freedom. Such simplicity! The author explains this basic truth very well and can be clearly understood by anyone! This should be required reading for any born again Christian!

Great Book

After reading this book, I bought two more to give away (didn't want to give away my copy). The author (a pastor) distills the gospel down to two commandments that Jesus gave: (1) to believe in Him and (2) to love one another. The author made this discovery years into his ministry during a low period. He discovered that the teaching to "love one another" became virtually lost within a few centuries of the birth of Christianity. The "Love Revolution" is the rediscovery of this great commandment. It is well worth the read. I believe that it captures the true heart of the gospel with out the filters of "religion".

A Must Read

This is just one of those books! I've read it. Reread it. Given away copies to my pastor, worship leader, family and friends. I've mentioned it when I speak, referenced it in my writings, and referred to it in casual conversations. This book's message resonates with me. Gaylord Enns has started a movement toward the center. The message of this book cuts through the layers of separation found in religion and meets on one uniting truth. The words are for the Church found in Christ's words to all who put their faith in Christ. We are to love one another. Profound. "A new command I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34,35) When love comes first, walls come down. The strength and validity of Christ's command comes to Pastor Enns late in his pastoral ministry. He is in the prime of his ministry, a well-known and respected minister in the Chico, CA area, a loving mentor of Christian people. A personal crisis stops him in his tracks. The year is 2001, it is early on Sunday morning before a day of scheduled preaching. But it soon becomes the day he can't preach, is unable to preach. Depression hit hard. Then cancer. Time away from ministry. Soul searching. A personal longing begins to gnaw at him. He wants to hear his father say the words, "I love you." Enns' interesting and amazing journey leads us to the words, "This is my command: Love each other." He is startled as he contemplates these words. Why is this command is so little emphasized, ignored, almost brushed aside? A quest is undertaken. He searches for the command's historical church context from deep in the archives. Little is found. He knows he is on to something. He writes "Love Revolution" and begins to share with local church leaders. The book's message of love multiplies. Sessions are held in local churches to bring Christian people together. They are uniting in love. It is a beautiful movement of God. I know this because I attended some of these sessions to fellowship with my sisters and brothers in the faith. . . In 2008, a friend gave me this book. Its words are timely for there is much truth written in its pages. I highly recommend this book.

A *MUST* for intergenerational ministries

Gangel and Wilhoit address many important aspects of Christian Education. In the book, theology and family dynamics are freshly engaged. However, the theory is concretely displayed through relevant contemporary issues that are also discussed. Christian Education is a family-wide objective (no matter who actually receives the teaching), and this book is a helpful tool for that mission.

An exellent ressource

Having just finished this book I have learned so much from it. It is a practical book with great contributions from many good and exellent christian educator's that all target different aspects of Family Life education.
It was required reading for my class on Family life education, but it can truly be used in professional circles too and I strongly recommend churches to use it as well. Some academic books has a tendency to get very technical and it at times can be hard to enjoy and understand what they are "Really" saying, but the wonderfulthing about this book is that it was simple and written in a way that can be easily applied and used in life, ministry and at the job.
It is also A book that should be re-read and re-studied as it is very important what is being talked about. "Important truths that has to be grasped"

Great book everyone that I strongly suggest you to read and enjoy and learn from.

An essential book in Caribbean history

This is a really key book if you want to understand the culture and history of the Caribbean. Burton successfully takes us beyond the question of African Survivals and European impositions, and gives us a key for thinking in new ways about the Caribbean as a place in itself. Burton writes clearly and there is little jargon to get in the way of his innovative thoughts on how culture really worked under slavery and then emancipation. Anyone working in the Caribbean or the Atlantic margins of Central America needs to read this book. And if you are thinking about ex-colonial countries anywhere in the world (the USA for example), you will find a lot of innovative and helpful ideas here.
