Love this guide & scripture references throughout the book!

I just got this in the mail yesterday as I am praying about visiting Israel next year. Since I love learning about places before I visit, I thought this would be a good book to invest in and for $8, I thought it was worth ordering! So far I've only flipped through it and read a few pages, but I already l love it! The pages divide up the different cities and attractions. I love that the author talks about a place and uses scripture to reference about what happened there during Bible times and Jesus' life. It is a tiny bit heavier than I expected, but I think that's because the book is so full of information and pictures. There are 8 maps in the back that depict life during Bible times pointing out Biblical and historical moments. I recommend the book! I can't wait to read more and take it with me to Israel!

Disappointing

I guess I was one of the minority of people who were just disappointed by this book.

I adored the Boss. I absolutely adored the Girlfriend. The Bride was a bit of a disappointment, but the Ex was a lot, lot more disappointing.

I think just too many things were thrown at the reader, and just received superficial treatment. In one book, we had Neil's mother dying, Neil's alcoholism, Emma's new baby, Neil's ex, a relationship with Valerie, a foursome, Sophie's mother coming to stay, Sophie's eating issues and (insert eye-roll) Sophie's new-found bisexuality. Which meant that every one of these topics, which was worthy of actual exploration, really only received a paragraph or two before the author moved on to the next big thing.

As much as I love Neil and Sophie, I want to remember them with the Boss and the Girlfriend. I think I'm done with this series.

The books in this series keep getting better

Sometimes a series will start to peter out and I'll wish the author would just let the characters go off into the sunset and live happily ever after. This is NOT the case with Abigail Barnette's sexy series. The characters remain compelling and the storyline keeps me interested. I want more. After I finished this one, I went back and re-read portions of The Boss just to remember certain details. This series is very well written and HOT. I will continue to buy any installments the author publishes.

I can name a couple of series where I was once obsessed and feel the author is just churning them out now for money. Last week, I read the 4th book in the Crossfire series (Captivated By You) and just thought it was "bleh". Diana Gabaldon's last two books in the Outlander series have just sucked, in my opinion. I know some readers will give rave reviews to just about anything, but I'm careful about encouraging readers with limited time and resources to take the plunge and invest in a book that I can't wholeheartedly recommend. This 4th book in the series is truly terrific.

No, it doesn't have a complete Pokédex...yet.

A lot of people give this book negative reviews because it doesn't have a complete Pokédex, which I totally understand. However, the Pokémon X and Y handbook didn't have one either when the first edition came out, so this one doesn't either. On a little piece of paper inside the inside front cover of the book, it notified me that there would be a complete version coming March 2015. Why they do this, I don't know. But I don't think it's really worth giving the book negative reviews over.

Pros:
1) Lots of colorful illustrations.
2) Complete list telling where each TM is (I really needed this!)
3) Info on the Battle Maison and the Battle Chatelaine sisters' teams (kind of disappointed the Battle Frontier from Emerald wasn't there, but it is what it is. Maybe it'll be added in a DLC).
4) And a lot of other features that would take too long to explain.

Cons:
1) Obviously no National Pokédex, but there are many online resources for this (Bulbapedia, Pokemondb, Serebii, etc.)

Overall, a really good buy. And I bought it for less than it said on the back cover, so thanks for that, Amazon!

Good Guide, But It's Missing A Complete Pokémon Index!

After being disappointed with the last Pokémon strategy guide I was a little hesitant about picking up the guide for the new Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games, but it turns out I'm actually quite pleased with it. That being said I'm still not 100 percent satisfied with this guide! I just wish that they would had included a full Pokémon Index instead of just an Pokémon Native Index to the Hoenn Region. Furthermore, I don't understand why the full Official Index guide comes out so late! It's not released until March 2015, and by that time I would had already completed these games. Now that the Index issue is out of the way lets get into what you'll find in this guide, the pros, and of course the cons.

What's In The Guide:

 Detailed Interview with the Creators of Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.
Hoenn Regional Map
 Detailed walkthrough of the two games that include training, routes, cities, and gyms information.
 Belief Pokémon Index of the Hoenn Region. This Index shows you the Pokémon's type, egg group, ability, hidden ability, and main way to obtain them.
 Adventure Data: Gives players information about items in the games, and and their effects.
 And much more that's too much to list here.

Pros:

 Very Detailed Walkthrough with tons of information, and useful tips.
 Detailed maps and images of the games.
 Tips on completing your Index
 Thick book with lots of helpful information.

Cons
 Doesn't offer players a complete Pokémon Index, and the full Index is released way too late. The missing Complete Index is really the only con, but it's a big one!

Bottom line:

This guide is a nice addition to the two games, but it's missing some critical information about the Index, but at the same time the walkthrough itself is very useful and is filled with other important information. I just wish that Nintendo would release the Pokémon Index a lot sooner. That all being said this guide is still worth getting if you're a completist and want to find every little thing Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire has to offer.

Great companion to the game

Great companion to the game. This Walkthrough doesn't have an extensive pokedex or complete guide to catching everything, but I bought the Pokedex book in addition to this Walkthrough and together they are extensive knowledge sources to complete your game!

The book is much larger than the guides for the directly previous Pokemon X and Pokemon Y games. This book is slightly larger than a standard 8 - 1/2" by 11" sheet of printer paper, whereas the previous guides were about half that size. The larger book makes it a little more cumbersome to use on your lap while playing (especially being a softcover), and more difficult to use on the go (I.E., in the car).

The content is great though, very thorough. My only complaint is the front cover of both this book AND the external (additional) Pokedex Manual curl up awkwardly. They began to curl like this even before I used the books, while sitting flat on the table. I weighed them down for about 24 hours, but they still curl up like crazy!

The book covers the basics in an understandable and logical order...it is well-organized and complete. Chapter 3, The Infrastructure of Managed Care, is very interesting and informative - is very good at describing how managed care organizations do what they do. Chapter 4, Provider Networks, and Chapter 5, Purchasers and Managed Care, are very good chapters with good descriptions of provider networks and purchasing arrangements. (Reviewed by Bernard J. The content of the book overall is well thought out and easy to read. Chapter 1, The Evolution of Managed Care, is an excellent chapter. The Medicaid and Medicare sections of Chapter 5 are excellent. My Favorite Sales Philosophy Book of All Time

The heart of our economy is selling. And, for decades, sales experts have written wonderful books detailing ways to improve the sales process. Having spent much of the early years of my career on the front lines of selling professional services (high-end consulting) and having taught professionals selling for the last 20 years, I have long been a voracious reader of the latest books on how to improve the selling process. At long last, someone has written the perfect companion to all those wonderful process books - this a beautiful gem on a winning sales philosophy. The perfect companion for all those wonderful process books.

I loved this book! It jumped off the bookshelf and into my arms on Sunday while passing through the Orlando airport. On the ensuing plane ride, I read with delight a book which captures the essence of the philosophy that I have personally seen as the differentiator among professionals selling high-end services (i.e., lawyers, accountants, consultants, and investment bankers). The five "laws" are brilliant, the explanations of the laws are very clear, and the short stories crisply support the point being made.

I thought the Go-Giver, the prequel to this book, was a delightful book. This book takes the concept espoused in that gem and transforms the concept into a comprehensive and implementable sales philosophy. This is the starting point for being successful at selling. Compliment it with your favorite sales process (eg "Consultative Selling," "High Trust Selling," "Integrity Selling," etc.) and you will have the winning combination for times that require every sales person to be at their very best.

If I have one concern about the book, it is that the book will get thought of as being just for "sales people." I share the belief that authors Bob Burg and John David Mann point out that almost all of us are involved with sales, in some dimension of our life. From the President of the United States, to non-profit CEOs, to professionals, to solo-entrepeneurs, we all need to be sell effectively and honorably. This book lays out the guidemap for building the foundation for doing so. Best of all, it does so with five laws that any of us can master.

The best indicator of the depth of my feelings about any book is when I start gifting a book in significant numbers. Not only have I started doing that with this book, but I already have one CEO who has told me that he appreciated my gift, loved the book and is buying copies for his entire sales force and his senior management team. And another CEO is giving copies to each of the lawyers in his firm. Their actions have me convinced this book is going to the top of the charts, and deservedly so.

This my 100th review here on Amazon, where I write reviews only on the best of the best of the many dozens of books that I read each year. Because I only write on the best of the best, my ratings here are generally a 4 or 5 star. This book not only deserves a 5 rating, but also goes down as one of the most important of the 100 top books I have reviewed here. It really is that good! And, that important for a world that needs principled approaches to all the important things in life!!

It's Not Just About Sales

Whether in business or our personal lives, relationships are all about adding value to other peoples' lives. Creating giving relationships is the core of Go Giver's Sell More. Yes, the book guides up to be better sales people. But it's SO MUCH MORE than that. This book guides everyone of us toward a better way to be, as human beings, friends, lovers, partners, associates or strangers who pass on the street.

Go Givers Sell More helps us remember our truth - that giving is the key to all relationships. Giving for the sake of pure joy, for the sake of the giving, without a thought for personal gain - or the popular Win/Win that has us keeping score on our relationships. That universal law is quite simple. We just have a hard time remembering it, much less following it.

Our social training is all about getting ahead, doing for ourselves, giving to receive - keeping track of our family and friends in the balance of giving vs getting. Sure, some of what we're taught in sales (and marketing) is useful. But the core premise is flawed. We're all taught to focus on our product and our goal of selling it. We're taught tactics that take us out of the focus on relationship building for the joy of relationships - and into the 'me, me, me' zone.

Human relationships weave the fabric of all business. Relationships also weave the fabric of life. When we put our relationships and others first, focus on creating value for them and give freely of ourselves - that's when we return to our truth. The pure goal of sales, and life, is to create VALUE for others. That's what Go Givers Sell More teaches us to do.

Enjoyable read with great message

There really isn't anything more I can say about this book that all of the other 5 star reviewers have already stated. However, I did feel the need to share my voice amoungst the other positive reviewers because I truly believe this is a must have book for everyone. Both myself and my husband are in the health care industry and know first hand the importance of valueing each and every patient. We also have two college aged children whom we have also instilled this message. I promote this book as well as the Go-Givers to everyone I meet. I believe that if everyone utilized the basic steps outlined in this book we all would have a more profitable and much more positive existince on this planet. "Give more than you are asked and receive more than you can imagine" is the premise I concluded from this book. It is common sense that we have somehow lost along the way. Let's get it back.
